"50th HIP HOP ANNIVERSARY" Mixtape + Special drop

On August 11, 1973, at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx, New York, DJ Kool Herc hosted the first block party, which is universally recognized as the birth date of hip hop culture. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of a culture essential to street culture and the birth of streetwear, 5tate of Mind, together with artist/writer Ok Rocco, has created a capsule collection consisting of two T-shirts and a poster featuring a selection of 58 iconic artists who have made a fundamental contribution to the growth and global spread of this culture.
For the drop, we reached out to some of Italy's top artists, including Marracash, Gue', Noyz Narcos, Shablo, Danno, Bassi, Chicoria, Nex Cassel, Paola Zukar, Inoki, Enzo Dong, Johnny Marsiglia, Ty1, Ketama126, Deda, DJ Shocca, Ensi, DrefGold, Gemello, Carl Brave, and many others. They've personally selected the two tracks they fell in love with, paying homage to the pillars of hip-hop history.
Through this mixtape, we are transported on a sonic journey that spans the different eras and subgenres of Hip-Hop, highlighting the tracks that shaped the movement and influenced subsequent generations.
This mixtape celebrates not only iconic hits, but also the most profound and meaningful tracks that have made hip-hop a vehicle for expression for marginalized communities and a voice for social change. It's a tribute to hip-hop culture in its entirety, with a curated selection of artists who have left an indelible mark on the Italian music scene.
